Supernova are currently earning explosive popularity in Japan.

After making their Korean comeback in August, the group set off back to Japan on September 21st in order to prepare for their “2010 Supernova Jumping Concert.”

Their concert was entirely sold out, with 6,000 fans gathering to see Supernova at the last stop of their tour at Tokyo International Forum. Tickets for the concert already sold out in the beginning of September, but many fans reported that they had bought auctioned tickets for $1,350 USD.

The October 2nd concert in Nagoya sold out its 3,000 seats, along with the Osaka concert on the 4th selling out 3,400 seats

The line for the Tokyo International Forum concert on the 9th reached nearly 100 meters in length. Fans each held placards with various support messages written in Korean.

Supernova’s agency commented, “The age group of the fans were diverse from teens to those in their 50s. We also saw a lot of daughters bring their mothers along. It was definitely a passionate time that allowed everyone to see why Supernova swept the Oricon charts.”

Supernova performed a total of 23 songs, consisting of their nine Japanese singles that managed to rank in the top 6 of the Oricon charts nine times in a row.

Leader Yoon Hak concluded the concert by stating, “We would like to bow our heads to thank those that allowed us to be where we are today. We will always be making sure that the love you give us is not repaid with embarrassment.”

With their tour coming to an end, Supernova will be returning to Korea on the 10th for their Korean activities and going back to Japan on the 20th.

Supernova sells out their 15 concert tour in Japan

Hallyu stars Supernova have stunned representatives once again by completely selling out 15 concerts in 11 different cities!

All together, the seats total up to 35,000, making for an incredible feat. Maru Entertainment commented, “Starting with Sapporo on September 1st, the tour will go through Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, and other cities. Considering the fact that the tour hasn’t even started, the group is already receiving much interest.”

Supernova headed over to Japan before the second Hallyu wave really picked up. They began living in Japan in 2008 and have set records that unfortunately aren’t as well known as they should be. All 13 of their singles have placed in the top 6 on the Oricon chart and they’ve sold out every concert they’ve had last year and this year.

This tour in particular, “Supernova Live Tour 2011 Make It“, is their first official tour with an actual title. Representatives continued, “Despite having to promote both in Korea and Japan, as well as having their own individual activities, the members rehearsed until the early morning. They’re all excited for it and have even participated in the directing of the concert.”

In related news, Supernova released their 12th and 13th singles, which have both placed in 3rd and 4th on the Oricon weekly chart. They’ve also been cast as the leading roles for the upcoming movie, ‘Our After School’, while member Sungje is working on his Japanese musical, ‘200-Pound Beauty‘ in addition to everything else.

Supernova to star in their second Japanese movie, ‘Our After☆School’

Supernova, who debuted in Japan two years ago, have revealed that they will be starring in their second Japanese movie!

On August 13th, the six-member boy band held a second anniversary summer event at the Pacifico Yokohama National Grand Hall. The boys informed their fans that they will be starring as the lead roles in an upcoming movie titled ‘Our After☆School‘.

The boys previously starred in ‘A Love Song For You‘ as well as other dramas, so they have plenty of experience in the acting department. They’ll be playing the roles of six Korean transfer students who help a club in debt spring back alive.

Directed by Sashiki Shota, the movie will be using Supernova’s 13th Japanese single, “Meki Love“, as its theme song.

At their event, Supernova also performed “Kimidakewa Hanasanai” (a song that had placed third on the Oricon daily chart on the day of its release) in high school uniforms.

Leader Yoonhak said, “I feel a bit shy wearing a school uniform in front of everyone like this. We promise to work hard towards our 10th anniversary. About 5,000 showed up at our first anniversary event, but this year, we’ve received more than three times the amount. Thank you so much. We hope that next year, the amount of fans that show up will be 30 times the number today.”

Their film will hit theaters on November 5th.

Supernova snags $500,000 contract for ‘Talent Cosmetic’ endorsement

Hallyu group Supernova has snagged a one-year modeling contract with cosmetics brand ‘Talent Cosmetic‘. Their contract was estimated to be worth $500,000 USD!

The boys took some time off from their busy promotions in Japan to head to Korea for the photoshoot. All of the cosmetics brands in Korea seem to be intent on expanding their business overseas, as Supernova rounded out the list of Hallyu stars currently working as models for make-up companies. Some include The Face Shop‘s Kim Hyun Joong, Missha‘s TVXQ, Tony Moly‘s T-ara, Holika Holika‘s CNBLUE, and Bobby Pet‘s F.T. Island.

‘Talent Cosmetic’ is a luxury brand that has seven stores in Myungdong, Seoul alone. This is also the first time in four years that the boys have landed a Korean CF since working with SNSD for school uniform brand ‘Elite‘ back in 2007.
